Notifications for theme/plugin authors on new support threads
If you want to provide solid and fast support at WordPress.org for your theme\plugin you need to manually visit the subforum and check if there are new posts.
Esmi just confirmed me that there is no way to get a message\email on new support threads for a specific subforum. RSS is the only option.
I think it would be a great way to speed up response time for authors.
A small checkbox "Notify me of new posts via email" in the specific forum would do it.
What do you think?
How do you keep track of support requests for your themes\plugins?
You can also set up email alerts for each forum, or for your plugin/theme slug.
I clicked through all profile pages, favorites, settings and forums but cannot find anything related to email alerts.
Can you please show me an URL where I can do that?
On the line with your name, it has an edit link and a notifications link
hm that's not really working in my case. My theme has a generic name and I get 50 alert mails a day where that name appears somewhere else in the forums.
I agree with Gerald - email notifications for the support forum for plugin authors is definitely needed.
There's a "Subscribe to Emails for this Plugin" for all plugins on https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-super-cache
That said. It relies on users putting their questions in the right place. We can't really force that :/ People do what they do.
Thanks for clarifying Ipstenu, I do see that link you mention now. Perfect!
