Multi lingual support and internationalisation

It will be nice to see a function that will translate your hole site in permanent pages, or build new content from translating work.

Yeah, translating all the content into user chosen language would be awesome. The only thing is that that doesn't always work like it is designed to, due to different variables in world's languages.

I am using xLanguage on one bilingual and one trilingual blog/site.

It allows me to have posts, post headers, pages, page headers, categories, link categories, widget titles all (manually) translated. It is supposed to translate tags too, but I haven't tested it. (link_categories needs to be added to singletext filters)

The rest of the (statical) UI elements are easily translated by copying the theme directory to theme_lang1, theme_lang2... and then editing the theme files where needed.

One just needs to make sure that the theme files use single quotes in any title='...' elements or avoid the use of span elements in titles.

Thus far the plugin seems so good, that I think it should come standard besides Hello dolly and Akismet.

  4. Multi-language support already exists in the core.
