More Flexibility to Comments
I have a WP blog that gets lots of comments - but on many occasions, the comments are posted to the unrelated post.
I would suggest that if a functionality is built in WP whereby comments posted in one post could be moved to another post by the blog admin that would really be great !
I see your point here, but doesn't that violate the right of the writer to comment under the post he thinks is relevant?
Also how to notify him about any updates (if he or she has subscribed to receive them)if you have moved his comment to another post? In this case there must be easy functionality that allows changing the notification info for that user.
Notifications are not part of WP core.
As to "right", you will agree that it is the admin / author who have better rights over their blogs than those who write comments.
Moreover, those who run website / blogs with lots of comments posted would only be able to understand the problem that I have stated.
Even today, the comments can be moved directly from the MySQL database. However, a backend user interface would be a better choice than directly making changes to MySQL
Anup, let me look into this for you as part of the "Remarks" plugin I made - no promises. This is a plugin that helps users analyse their comments by author/category and gives bar charts/pie charts accordingly.
