Idea: Make Administration Screens 508 Compliant

Hi. I work for a government agency who has implemented WordPress internally. We are in the process of implementing it for externally-facing blogs. One hurdle is the fact that the admin screens are not completely 508 compliant. After some analysis, it appears that it is VERY close, but there are simple, minor issues remaining to take it to 100% compliance.

All of the compliance issues we found are input tags without the required label or alt text. Considering the number of pages in the admin console, the number of issues found is relatively few. We found issues with some of the following input types: text, radio button, textarea, file, and checkbox.

Bringing this to full compliance would allow more government agencies to implement this fantastic product and broaden the user community greatly.

At least 1 government tech dept. has taken it upon itself to submit bugs/patches for 508 compliance(whatever the heck that may be to non-US people)
