Lock HTML Editing Mode on Posts & Pages

  1. Kane Jamison

There are a number of posts and pages on my site that have complicated iframes or other code embedded in HTML view. (Facebook comments is the perfect example).

I'd like the ability to 'Lock' the HTML view under the page attributes in order to block Visual view, which often tinkers with my HTML.

Good idea and I could use it myself! So here it is http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/html-mode-locker/ :)

I used to use a short snippet of code to do just that for my posts, but I missed having the flexibility of the Visual tab. And in most cases my clients only ever wanted to use the visual tab. So I wrote a plugin that stopped wordpress from tinkering the HTML when switching between them...

You both might like it :D

    Preserved HTML Editor Markup
Works great!! seems like an excellent item to add to
    the WP admin itself?

@studioactiv8 - Thanks, it's always nice to hear when someone likes my work :D As for it being something WP Admin should do by default, I'm in complete agreement. Unfortunately that's not going to happen any time soon as the core development team insists on the use of wpauotp logic which is what causes a bulk of the problems. Though I'm trying to persuade them (http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/18534#comment:17)

In other news I'm about to release a new version that will give even better control over how content is inserted so hopefully you'll like it even more.
