Improve or replace WordPress.org's Search

WordPress.org's search is not as good as it should be.

Right now, it's almost always faster and easier to find WordPress.org documentation or forum threads using a Google search instead of the search that's built in here.

Is there a way that WordPress.org can improve the search functionality of the Forums and Documentation, or replace it with Google site search?

Silly as it may sound, I think this could go a long way in improving the usability of any version of WordPress.

I agree, sometimes trying to search through the WordPress Documentation is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Today I was unable to find some plugin searching by the exact name of the plugin. Not showing anywhere in the first page of results. The search function in wordpress.org is useless.

In 8 months of WordPress addiction and discovery, this has to be the single biggest head-scratcher I've encountered.

WP is supposed to be the wave of the future, but the search function at wordpress.org is..... I mean, there's no words for it. You can't even find something by typing in the exact name of the theme or plugin.

At this time, WP.org users would be better served if the search box were replaced with a "random returns" button, so no one would waste their time typing in search terms.
