Ideas

Have multiple default image/media sizes

Under 'media settings' you can specify default media sizes. However sometimes you may want a different thumbnail size on your pages than on your posts, for example.

I propose that alongside the three existing options (Thumbnail, Medium, Large) that there be a plugin or option to add extra custom default sizes - for example 'Post Thumbnail' or 'Excerpt Thumbnail' etc.

It's already possible to define custom image sizes using the add_image_size() function.

Greenshady, do you know of a theme that provides additional image sizes that can be configured through a UI? Most people don't know how to use "add_image_size()" because they are not coders. :)

This is plugin+theme territory; the core can already do this.

OK then I propose that someone makes a plugin that does this :)

This would be an excellent idea.

Thanks Greenshady for the info, I didn't know about that function.
