Free or Paid Plugins mark
Maybe we should add the Paid/Free mark to the plugins library?
Because now it's looks like a cheating. Plagin is "Free", but you have to pay to use the functions.
I don't want to look on any plugins who crop his functional because the money. Voluntary donation is the only way!
I want the real filter "Paid/Free" at the Plugin Directory to search.
All plugins are free to download. The attached services may not be, but that should all be explained on the plugin page. If not, please report that to plugins AT wordpress.org and we'll contact them to be more obvious.
Keep in mind, there is NO rule about plugins being free to use. If there's a service (like Akismet which runs on another server), it's permitted to charge for that service.
Yes, you are right. But I thing will be better if non-commercial plugins will be special marked.
Because I believe mostly people will preference maybe not so beautiful, but free plugin.
And now not so easy to find free plugin like this, because a lot of commercial plugins already created for Word Press.
"Voluntary donation is the only way!"
I have gotten $5 dollars in two years, and have had a good amount of compliments and interaction with users whom like it.
Problem is with that model, as I am sure most developers will attest to is that no one donates, which is why developers are turning more to 'paid' services now. It is no easy task to develop some of these and there is quite a bit of work involved, and many developers don't have the luxury of being financially secure where they can spend all their time working for free.
So? If you do not agree about your salary, just stop to do the work.
Depends on the plugin/theme and how you sell it.
The WPORG repo is for free to download, pay-for-service, donate if you want, plugins and themes. If you want to sell your stuff, that's just not here.
