Execute PHP Code in Main Content and Widgets

  1. RockyMtnHi

Almost all of the WordPress websites I build need some level of customization, and when I build them for robust businesses they need custom PHP and database integrations.

The problem is that when I use plugins to allow me to execute the PHP many times they are left to the wind and become outdated. That presents a huge problem when they are being used throughout a website. I can write my own shortcode handlers every time, but then I have to then write my own custom shortcode handlers every time.

It would be ideal if WordPress simply allowed the execution of PHP within the main content and text widget areas.

Will you PLEASE provide this caspability in WordPress?

And if you have just read this idea and suggestion, please upvote it so we can get this featurte that would really open WordPress up for major print time functionality.

    Thank you.

Highly unlikely due to security. Those plugins are dangerous in general, as well. That custom work you're doing belongs in plugins where they can be kept away from users who copy paste from the internet and blow their sites up :/
