Disable Any Conflicting Plugin/theme

    Hey,
I wonder if wordpress core team can add a feature to disable conflicting wordpress theme/plugin.
Many times we edit functions.php of any theme which breaks our whole site.
Don't you think in such cases it can be really for us if that theme/plugin can be disabled instantly instead of logging into the FTP and then manually editing the folder name of plugin/theme.

WordPress is working on that. In 4.9, if you edit functions.php within the core editor, it WILL roll things back if you break your site.

That said, detecting those things can be difficult when changes are made outside of the WP admin interface.

I think the detection if something is conflicting is very difficult. Sometimes its just some layout /CSS that ist not working as expected.

If the theme is disabled, and the site has no other themes installed, it will break. Like it won't load.

As for plugins... How does WP decide which is the conflict?

It's a great idea, but it requires a lot more work than just WP disabling things. Especially if the update breaks WP. Right now, hosts are starting to solve this by checking a before and after snapshot of your sites, but that's really difficult :(

I am still waiting for the rollback thing.
I have broken my websites quite a few times, and each time I had to get into my host and resolve that back to normal.
