Direct WordPress-to-WordPress blog transfer with no XML downloading/uploading

It's often a pain to migrate posts between WordPress blogs.

    1. Go to old WordPress blog
    2. Go to Manage > Export
    3. Spend forever waiting to download a .xml file
    4. Go to new WordPress blog
    5. Go to Manage > Import
    6. Upload .xml file
    7. Spend forever waiting for file to upload (which is about twice as slow as downloading, as most people have asymmetric DSL)

    This could be improved.

Imagine if your WordPress blogs could directly communicate so you wouldn't even have to see a .xml file. You would navigate to your new WordPress blog, go to Manage > Import, click the WordPress option, enter your old blog URL, username, password, and click Go. You'd be done in no time, especially if this were done in the background.

    What do you guys think?

There would then be nothing stopping someone stealing all your content very easily and setting up an identical blog and claiming it as there own content.

Having to use and .xml file atleast provides some barrier to this.
