Too many times I've come across clients using a WordPress theme with every bell, whistle, and gadget you can think of baked into the theme (when it shouldn't be). Then they want to make a theme switch (or, worse yet they already have and every short code in the world for them is broken).
What I propose is that [columns] is a universal enough short code used so predominately (and differently) in WordPress themes that we should put it into the Core of WordPress.
This would, in many cases, solve the problem of WordPress theme changes involving [columns] short code conversions causing issues.
I'm sure quite a few of your are aware of Konstanin Kovshenin (great developer!). Well, he happens to have a great plugin that could solve this problem, called Columns.
So I'm asking, how do we go about working it into Core? I'm more than willing to do whatever it takes to act as a buffer or get whatever needs to be done to whoever needs to do it (or even do it if possible).
The way I see it Kovshenin has done all of the heavy lifting for us and now all that's holding us back is the democratic process. So please upvote this if you agree!
