Allow Images to be uploaded at their full resolution

As a media blogger, I would like to be able to upload full-resolution photos. I have removed the php filesize limit but cannot upload photos at more that 443 x 373 or something like that.

This is annoying as the users are not computer experts and need a simple way to upload images into their posts. Using ftp and html to link to it is not an option.

this is really a small resolution... are you sure, that this is not some limitation by your hosting service? What happens, if you reach that limit? Is there some kind of error-message?

I'm just asking, because i was able to upload images somwhere around 3000x2000px to my WordPress without any trouble.

Perhaps you selected for the image to be displayed at medium or large size instead of full size. Full-resolution images are supported in core WP.
