Advanced Front end options
I feel that wordpress dashboard should be separated in to two parts and those regarding CONTENT ( posts, terms, links, comments etc ) should be their in front end and for configuring themes, plugins, settings etc could be in wp-admin. I can sense a better usability when iam using TUMBLR ( for posting content ) than in wordpress. The percentage of users using wordpress for posting content is higher than developers like us, for them their is no need to show the admin panel.
A simple use case,
why should i see plugins/themes/settings , when my priority is only posting content.
I also fear that Tumblr could overtake wordpress.com because of these problems. we know many people are using wordpress, but i feel their are many more yet to find it.
Hope people in wp would consider.
I have my pet-peeves about the WP admin menu organization, but I think what you're suggesting can already be accomplished by using user roles with lower capabilities. For instance, the "Editor" role shows pretty much what you're asking for.
If it's such a nuisance, you should seriously consider creating two roles for yourself and using the Editor one when working on content.
Agreed but my point is that wordpress admin panel should only consists of administrative function ( themes, plugins, tools etc )
Media, posts, users should be controlled using front end options, so that the users doesn't have to switch to wp-admin.
Navigating back and forth to wp-admin would confuse him.
Iam asking something exactly like tumblr.
Even in buddypress courseware we can add/edit content from frontend, why dont we bring the same thing to default wordpress
holy s--- jjj new post revealed what i was talking about http://johnjamesjacoby.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/new-wordpress-com-posting-ui/
