I tested a lot of Bootstrap based themes made for WordPress. Most of them tried to be so "user friendly" that it tied my hands as a designer and I had to do a lot of workarounds strip out the parent theme styling that I didn't want or need.
DevDmBootstrap3 give me all the Bootstrap responsiveness & functioning that I want and only adds the most basic of styling. I have created a child theme that then strips out the little bit of styling I still don't want and I am left with a "blank canvas" from which to design. This saves me a lot of time and frustration.
Thank you very much for providing this theme in the WP repository!
Thank you so much!
I LOVE this theme/starter theme. How many themes out there have every support question answered?
Better yet, I asked the dev some questions and received a response within 20 minutes!
Here's what makes this theme so great:
1.) top notch support
2.) NO BLOAT! :)
3.) Nicely packaged, + ready-made child theme available on dev's website.
5.) Well documented - we even get a list of all the containers on a blank stylesheet (when using child theme) and a screenshot of where they are placed.
6.) Bootstrap :)
More, more, more... I have tried a TON of different themes. This is the one for me. Quite honestly I am surprised there are not more rave reviews (surely they'd be 5 stars, too). It's just exactly what I was looking for.
However, here's my caution to you, the potential downloader:
This was designed to be super lean. If you're looking for plug & play without doing any coding, this might not be a great choice for you. I wouldn't mind plugging and playing it (does look nice out of the box!), but if you want to customize it without doing any coding you're SOL. You could probably work it with a bootstrap plugin, but I have no experience doing that so don't take my word for it.
What I'd like to see added:
Page templates! Nothing fancy, just 1.) a no sidebar template and a 2.) a 1 sidebar template would do it for me. It's currently set up so that you choose to have no sidebars, one sidebar, or two sidebars (left and right of content). This is a bummer, because I don't want a sidebar on my homepage, but I do want one on my blog page. This 'problem' has been brought forth to the dev, but I don't believe we will see page templates implemented due to the 'lean as can be' nature of the theme.
The good news is that you can manually create a page template, so overall my one negative is essentially a moot point to most.
Thank you for taking the time and creating such a well document and easy to use theme.
Tired of using themes with all sorts of crap spit out in the html? This one is a great way for dev work without all the extra unneeded output.
Highly recommend this one!
After looking around for quite some time I found this excellent theme and I am starting to play with it now and so far I am impressed.
Just a question: how is that the several functions in functions.php are not surrounded by if(!function_exists(...?
I understand that this is a developers theme, but not being able to override just small bits of program will make it difficult to upgrade the parent theme without having to update the child as well. Two such cases I could spot are:
Anyway, I'll add the conditionals myself and try to remember it whenever there is an update ... unless there is another option that I am too dumb to see ...
Thanks for an excellent job!
Thanks again. It's good base for do own theme with twitter boostrap.
I agree with Rajeeb. This is the best Bootstrap 3 based WP Theme. I am talking from personal experience. I've probably tried everything there is. I kept the two theme, but this is my favorite.
I am using this theme for a long time.
If you are looking for Bootstrap 3 Theme, do not waste your time. Danny did this great. I recommend.
Awesome Starter Theme with Twitter Bootstrap. Recommended for all developers.
