Great Job!!
By ,

Very nicely done work. As a developer with experience I would say that this is quite complicated implementation. It is not easy to integrate phpBB forum into WordPress template. Unfortunately not a lot of people understand the level of complexity. They do not understand the fact that website is hard work and expecting to have everything for granted.
jhong thank you for this plugin. I successfully implemented it on our website http://wpaam.com. Works great with minor issues which I hope you'll help me to resolve. But this is another conversation.
Keep working on it and think about payed either version or support.

The best there is
By , for WP 3.8.1

I love this plugin so much, it really helps me connect wordpress to phpBB and vice-versa.

One thing I am having problems with is the dragging the "strings" in the User Mapping options, they seem to get stuck in Chrome but I am going to try some other browsers and see if that improves anything.

Thank you so much for developing this!

Superb Coding
By , for WP 3.6

I'm rating as a developer who has been working on the code in this plugin. It is one of the best coded plugins I've found on WordPress. A wider use of PHP functions and more innovative procedures than many premium plugins that exist.

I can see a secure and safe plugin. That matters a lot in a plugin of this nature but despite this it is often less considered by many WordPress users. Even if there are bugs in this plugin, it is still one of or possibly the best place to start with WP phpBB integration.

I'll be adapting some functions for our own WP e-Customers plugin which has a modular/section approach. I looked at all bridge plugins through research as WP e-Customers is to have WP to phpBB (not phpBB to WP) functionality. So we're not making a rival but a different tool catering to a different approach. I've already mentioned WP United in my source comments.

Best solution of all
By , for WP 3.5.2

Very straightforward step-by-step instructions and it does what it says. I have a client whose 10-year-old phpBB forum could NOT be imported into any other system compatible with WordPress and dude wanted to keep EVERY. SINGLE. POST. WP United made it easy to integrate subscribers/paid users between the WP site and phpBB. Once it's working, set it and forget it.

A couple of caveats:
1) This integration is NOT for WordPress or PHP beginners. Not because of the plugin or because of WP, but because phpBB itself is not for beginners when it comes to adding MODs. You have to be able to follow directions in editing PHP code when using phpBB. There's no way around it.

2) This plugin works best with very sleek, minimal themes (if you're going for full theme integration.) The aforementioned client has a graphics-heavy theme with e-commerce, paid member management, and other special features out the wazzoo. So I turned off theme integration and it works beautifully to post elements of the phpBB forum in WordPress and integrate users.

Again, you have to know how to follow directions and edit code and upload individual files to make the plugin work in your system. If you're using phpBB, you should already have this skill.

Best Integration Plugin Out there.
By , for WP 3.5.1

This is the best working integration plugin out there. I really don't use the integration cause I disabled the wordpress registration so all the accounts will be on phpbb. :)
The problem is phpBB is not doing well nowadays, they're not updating and most of the plugins don't work or need a lot more work for it to work.
I really want you guys to make an integration for myBB or SMF forums. Also if ever, keep your widgets, I really love them. :D

Excellent plugin, breath of fresh air
By , for WP 3.5.1

I don't normally leave reviews for WP plugins but felt compelled to here. I've been through the mill in terms of manual WP and PHPBB integrations over the past few years. Decided to try this plugin tonight on a new install to see how it would work. Have to say that it was completely seamless and a joy to install. As I said, I've been playing with this area for a few years, initially back when Joomla was popular. (I don't miss those days!)

There are lots of features to play around with and a large collection of ready built widgets. Some additional tweaking of the widgets wouldn't go amiss but hopefully this will come with future updates.

This should be a premium plugin because of the complexity -versus- ease of use balance achieved.

Simply great!
By , for WP 3.5.1

Anyone that votes less than a 4 for this great plugin has no idea of working with WP or has been smoking strange stuff.
I have been working with a lot of forums, such as bbpress, Simple:press, mingke, and others. But none of them had the functionality of phpBB. To install phpBB itself, you should indeed have some knowledge, but it is not that hard after all if you follow instructions.
But that is about phpBB.
The integration with WP is an other story, and this is why wp-united is so good: it's easy to install & use, it works perfect and I got GREAT support.
Anyone looking for a good forum should use phpBB and WP-united!

cheers,
Val
