Auto-posts a Twitter update when you update your WordPress blog or blogroll, with your chosen URL shortening service.
Works straight away, setup surprisingly simple even with shortener. Will recommend Pro version to clients. Thanks!
I've used two previous Twitter integrating plugins both of which have dwindled in development along the way but Wp to Twitter remains fully supported and regularly updated by its developer, who provides superb, responsive support by the way.
This plugin works nicely out of the box and has lots of nice configurable features, but if you really want to set your tweets apart then the pro version is well worth the investment. It allows you to schedule your tweets, repost your tweets up to 3 times and include your article featured images in your tweets! If that isn't unique and special then I don't know what else there is it could possibly do.
The free version is brilliant, the pro version is amazing!
Okay, look. I'm a big fan of freebies. Most of my sites run primarily on freebies, and I include a list of credits for each, to be fair, and to say thanks.
But being a cheapskate makes me all the more sensitive to the difference you can expect between a freebie and a paid plugin. I use some premium items because ultimately, it's cheaper for me. I can offer more; I can do it in less time; they break less often; and when they do, there's someone willing to help me out.
Now, WP to Twitter. The free version is like a beefed-up version of Jetpack's module, or any of another $5–$15 jobs out there. It offers way more ways to customize your tweets, including bells and whistles you may use.
I paid for the Pro version because it does something no other plugin does: re-posting to Twitter a certain number of times, at intervals, later in the day. I don't know how this isn't a market unto itself, but Joe appears to be one of two folks thinking this way, and the other one isn't worth linking to. I can schedule a post for the morning, and be assured it'll show up on Twitter up to 4 times that day, evenly spaced and each tweet slightly distinguished from the last. Super-awesome. The free version is worth paying for, and the paid version is worth paying more for.
But Joe's support is what's really spectacular.
Again, great plugin. Even better support.
Great feature set, well designed and documented. Works great, does what it's supposed to, and saves me from having to manually tweet my blog posts.
Also, it's well worth the upgrade to WP Tweets Pro just for the multiple tweet capability.
The plugin just works. It's quite difficult to set up for a non-experiencied user, but this is because you have to follow the rules of Twitter and create an APP with certain settings.
Once setup it simply works.
easy to use and has lots of features.
especially supporting custom post types is cool!
I have been using this plugin for 2 months. With shortner or without it, plugin works very good for me. Thanks for this plugin.
I have been using the plugin for a day or two, and it generally works. I have some issues only because of my custom settings via custom post types and taxonomies. It is smart enough to pick up on custom post types, but just comes a little short when getting custom taxonomies. Still, the plugin has given me the least headache for the functionality that is made so hard to accomplish by the different networks.
I rate this plugin and developer, A+++++ would download again :)
There is a bit of work to configure this plugin - BUT - when we follow the instructions (in red - thank you) the plugin just works. The shortner i use is StumbleUpon.
The biggest issue is to always make sure we clicked the correct buttons to generate the api - so that it shows 'read and write' And then spend the time to configure all the wonderful settings you provided.
Anyway - a deep bow of thanks for this plugin. Happy New Year
