A very fast caching engine for WordPress that produces static html files.
On first use it was awful in other browsers because it was caching all the old errors I'd already fixed and the css was looking wretched.
Then periodically something would go wrong, like today where the website was constantly down... not able to cache the plugin: "cyclone slider" - it spewed out the css page rather than the website, with this error on the bottom:
<!-- Page not cached by WP Super Cache. No closing HTML tag. Check your theme. -->
SO! Does that mean you have to screw up the entire f'in website!
Bugs abound. go away. run away from this awful plugin.
it cache my captcha pic.
F*ed up my site. WordPress not working after install (white screen)
Super Cache screwed up the reviews for products on my site. I'm new at using an open source ecommerce site (Woocommerce - WordPress) and didn't know how to fix it. Finally I got help from Woocommerce after emailing back and forth with them for WEEKS. They turned off the WP Super Cache and now my site works fine.
Difficult to use in case of problem for a newbie.
Also no needed if you have a nice, light and clean responsive wp theme!
When I set up this plugin, I get white screen. I don't like it.
My site went from 8.65 sec to 23.55 sec when I installed WP super Cache. Tested the results before, during and after it was removed with GT Metrics installed on my site.
I tried everything to make this work, it's totally useless.
There's no support for this plugin, they never answer a question or try to help!.
I'll go for W3 Total Cache hope it's better.
This caused my WordPress site to stop working as it caused encoding errors.
WP SUPER CACHE ***DANGER****
Deactivating it does not stop it from reading old super cache files!
"If you’re logged in or have left a comment you’ll never see a super-cached page."
"You’ll see plain old regular WP-Cached pages instead."
That means if you log out and see something different, it's super cache screwing things up.
Do not install until you have been running a while.
Do not install unless speed is an issue.
Don’t forget to delete the files wp-content/advanced-caching.php and wp-content/wp-cache-config.php.
Also comment out the WP_CACHE and WPCACHEHOME defines in wp-config.php.
It says "Added by WP-Cache Manager" but that's super cache crap.
