A very fast caching engine for WordPress that produces static html files.
After installing this and running it with default settings my website just stopped working, every link on the homepage generates server 404 errors now, I turned off all settings and disabled the plugin and the problem persisted. I didn't know what to do and had to start from scratch! Forget about this, it's not ready for implementation yet and the author should be WAY MORE forthcoming about that…I'm really irritated that a plugin could wreak so much havoc on my wordpress site. FAIL!
I never review plugins but this one inspired me to create an account for the sole purpose of sharing this with all of you. Instead of saving myself time I know get to spend the rest of the day reloading my site onto my server, great.
Plugin is very easy to set up, much more simple than W3 total cache.. however every few minutes I would get 500 internal server errors and have to reboot the server
deactivating the plugin was the fix.
I have used the plugin before on a shared server (hostgator) and it seemed to work quite well but for whatever reason, underwatever settings it doesn't work on my VPS.
For the past 4 months I have been running wp super cache.
I started to see my e-commerce store crash over and over again, many customers were halfway through purchasing a product when the site crashed on them. I have had calls with my hosting company and ISP to try and resolve this but never resolved.
By de-activating all of my plugins and reactivating them one by one I found that WP Super Cache was definitely the issue.
I have lost over £500 in sales due to this error and potentially much more from visitors that hit the error before purchasing.
On first use it was awful in other browsers because it was caching all the old errors I'd already fixed and the css was looking wretched.
Then periodically something would go wrong, like today where the website was constantly down... not able to cache the plugin: "cyclone slider" - it spewed out the css page rather than the website, with this error on the bottom:
<!-- Page not cached by WP Super Cache. No closing HTML tag. Check your theme. -->
SO! Does that mean you have to screw up the entire f'in website!
Bugs abound. go away. run away from this awful plugin.
it cache my captcha pic.
F*ed up my site. WordPress not working after install (white screen)
Super Cache screwed up the reviews for products on my site. I'm new at using an open source ecommerce site (Woocommerce - WordPress) and didn't know how to fix it. Finally I got help from Woocommerce after emailing back and forth with them for WEEKS. They turned off the WP Super Cache and now my site works fine.
Difficult to use in case of problem for a newbie.
Also no needed if you have a nice, light and clean responsive wp theme!
When I set up this plugin, I get white screen. I don't like it.
