Reduce image file sizes and improve performance using the Smush.it API within WordPress.
Thanks for this plugin! My website went from tediously slow to zippy fast when I used this plug-in and deactivated my caching plug-in.
Thanks, this plugin was almost exactly what I needed, he reduces image very well, thanks
What is the point of compressing images if you cannot compress images which are bigger than 1 MB ? That defeats the whole purpose in my opinion.
Very big downside, because now it is useless for me.
This plugin overcompresses the images. This may be fine for normal blogs but if you are a photographer or other visual professional, it will seem overly pixelated. And worst of all, once it is installed, it converts ALL of your photos, and there is no way to convert them back even after you uninstall the plugin.
I've been looking for a plugin that can reduce and optimize image for web use. This plugin helps reduce images to certain percentage including those images that I have already scaled properly. Although, the plugin has issue when it comes to bulk smushing of images, I still give this one a 5-stars due to its effectiveness in terms of optimization.
Suggestion to those who have 100s of images, smush them by batch as this plugin hangs. I was having the same trouble, but managed to figure out smushing all the images completely. My 5 star rating as mentioned, is for the effectiveness when the images are already smushed.
Bulk Smushing Rating = 2 Stars (Hangs and no indicator)
I saw a small increase in site performance but after trying to upload an image it has broken my entire site with an Internal Server Error. I've tried several things but its still not working!??
I've used WP Smush.it for several projects now and it works smoothly, a must have plugin if you want your site to be optimized for better overall performance.
Does what it's propose to do.
Too often the plugin hangs, with no progress indicator. More often than not, I get an error message that it did not connect to the service. I find it less frustrating to mass upload the images directly to Yahoo and upload the results to my media folder.
I hope the WPMU team can salvage this project, in the meantime I will look for another solution, perhaps Cloudinary.
After installing this plugin to my blog, I got many errors to upload media.
Every time I try to upload an image from the publisher, it took me years and finally told me that there was a mistake to upload photos.
I disable all plugins and I was activating one by one and test media upload. When I turn on this plugin, problems began again.
Today, I have removed from my site and all loads for multimedia works 100%.
Thanks anyway, this plugin reduces image very well.
Maybe I'll install it later again.
