Gather subscribers, manage them in separate newsletters, send follow-up emails, send broadcasts, send blog post deliveries all in one plugin.
This is a very versatile and intelligent newletter management and autoresponder plugin. Great for everyone who wants to go it alone (i e shys away from those stupid commercial solutions like AWeber, Mailchimp and the likes)...
The plugin comes with loads of mis-spellings and clumsy English language use though (needs to be improved by author/developer or they should get some professional help). At the end of the day, not too big an issue, if you throw it all out and re-write it yourself (default texts can -- and ought to -- be replaced before going to 'production' with this plugin. Just make sure you don't use the crappy lines and 'confirmation e-mail text' etc that come pre-installed with the plugin, unless you want to scare your subscribers away ;)
Most users won't realize they need to sign up or create an SMTP server with API. You can use Mandrill.com, or various other API's. Mandrill is easy and just a MailChimp spinoff. first 12,000 emails a month is free after that you have to start paying or just create your own server.
Only subscription confirmation, and first autoresponder email goes fine. Other autoresonder emails are not delivered at all. Just keep clicking those Run Now buttons. :(
I've been looking for an integrated newsletter and autoresponder plugin so we can self manage our own lists. Looking forward to giving this a full try.
Thanks alot for the post, it’s a great job.I’m still trying to set my online business and setting up blogs I think with this information I’m ready to dive in and start collecting email list
Wery good plugin for emarketing!
Plugin has everything you need for serious work. No problem with the settings. Of course, you need an afternoon to be friends with the plugin. After that is a pleasure to work with it. And, of course, could always be better. But, I have tried several autoresponders and then I came back to this. It is now one of my favorites. Once again: the plugin works! If not working on your side, then it's not a problem with this plugin. Look for the reason in your configuration, server, theme you use, ...
My only complaint is the poor design of the subscribe form.
I've been using this plugin for almost 2 years, with just one repeated send problem, which was fixed the following day by an update.
I've set up the plugin to send an autoresponder upon subscription, and I send periodic newsletters to my subscribers.
The plugin is not perfect: the interface could definitely be more streamlined, and recently I started to miss the ability to put a captcha field (or a honeypot as someone suggested) in the subscription form. The lack of such feature is causing me the minor hassle of periodically checking subscribers and deleting fake ones.
But since the developer is working for free and keeping the plugin up to date, I have only praise for this plugin, and for its developer.
PS. Please note that my website is on a low-frills server, so if your installation is not working, it might be your provider's fault, or just incorrect configuration.
Nice work, i like it
