Property and Real Estate Management Plugin for WordPress. Create a directory of real estate / rental properties and integrate them into you WordPress
Not very nice
this is the worse plugin i have come across. there are not many real estate plugins so having to deal with the dregs which is when i came across this one. it has caused me so many problems, there is little to no support unless you buy their themes and if u dont use their themes then you are in for a bumpy ride.
because there is so little on the market at the moment, ive had to hire my own programmer to sort it out could take a while!
dont download unless you have to
Wow, where to start? I just did a job for a client, and had the misfortune of designing their site around this plugin. I have to say, this is some of the most god-awful garbage I've ever seen.
The template system is a complete nightmare. Nothing in their function files or templates are named with any names that make sense.
The sorting and pagination features are completely broken, and the devs "solved" this issue by using <display nnone> to wrap and hide these elements, but forgot to remove the rest of the code, and so it leaves HUGE spaces. From the looks of the forums, it seems like this has been an issue for several months/versions, and has yet to be fixed.
Styling? Forget clean and useful css if you're using this plugin. None of the elements are consistant, or even remotely make sense. I even came across one element simple called "xoxo", is that the authors idea of a joke? This plugin also uses a mix of table layouts within nested DIV and UL/LI and it's just a HUGE mess.
As for simple functionality, yes this plugin has it's upsides, as the shortcode system (once you actually spend a few hours reading the forums and their cheat-sheet) is somewhat flexible. But really, all this plugin is, is a overly complicated post editor, with a few meta values thrown in for sorting and filtering. You'd get the same effect, if you just created custom post types and used a plugin or function to create extra meta-values in wordpresses built-in post editor.
Anyone considering downloading this plugin, you're in for a nightmare and a lot of headaches. This plugin is completely and utter junk, and from the looks of things, it's beyond repair.
it was okay for one month , then my wordpress has stopped with a error of 504 Gateway timeout , i thought it is a server problem but i start to rename the plugins one by one , after i renamed wo-property my wordpress start to work
Doesn't work with most themes. The 'basic' documentation is terrible. They should just make this a premium plugin so no one downloads the free version thinking it'll work without the developer's help.
Even their 'basic setup' page on their site has errors, so I don't see any hope for this.
Features look great, but if it doesn't work, then there is no point.
The best advice I can give you is to avoid this plug-in like the plague. Instead use Advance Custom Fields and customise your theme. It has so many bugs and in order to change basic things you need to alter core files that are then overwritten on update. If you do get stuck be prepared to pay $50 to get an answer... kind of goes against the whole WordPress open-source ethic.
This plugin ruins every theme you put it in... It's not responsive, so it looks like crap on mobile. There are more options - look into Placester's plugin website combo.
Tried WP Properties and found out it was loaded with several design limitations and so I got a refund. I too bought the WP Realty solution and it had a bit of a learning curve but at least it worked for my clients project and I like the fact that it had its own separate db tables that allowed for more query options with my project.
As a full time web developer if I had to give WP Property a RETS tool rating from 1-10 with 10 being the best I'd give it a 1 or a 2 and I'd probably give WP Realty at least a 8+ but it does cost more and just like everything else in life you get what you pay for.
This plugin is actually very awesome. They have done a lot of work to make it one of the best plugins I have encountered. I am thoroughly impressed.
I would give it 5 stars! Really! It is really awesome!
- except for one thing...
It breaks themes! It only works with 4 themes - Denali (their premium theme), twentyten, twentyeleven and fb properties (I don't know what that last one is).
To make it work with other themes 3 hours worth of modifications need to be done. According to them...
"Thanks for contacting us. You are right, the Denali does not play nice with other themes indeed, but only because you did not customize the templates. You will need to copy the two main template files from the templates folder in the plugin folder (for single properties and property listings). After that it's only a matter of changing the code in these two template files to make them match the structure of your theme. This work varies and can take 2-3 hours, depending on the complexity of your theme. The Denali theme already includes these templates matching its structure and that's what makes it compatible".
Don't waste your time our your money if you're planning on using this with their RETS tool. I wasted 3 weeks building everything out and then found out it couldn't handle the RETS listing images and their support said they would try to make some change that might fix the issue but would probably be a few weeks before they could get to it.
SO - I ended up buying the more expensive wordpress real estate plugin called WP Realty for 499 and was able to get everything done (just like in their videos) in a matter of hours and was completely done with the project in about 10 hrs. So what took me 3 weeks to do with WP-Property was able to be done with WP Realty in less than 10 total hrs and they even have "multiple" options for handling the listing images and the one I went with was the ability to "hot-link" the images from a remote media source so I don't even have to deal with downloading the images unless I just wanted to.
SO - anyone wanting to use WP-Property for RETS should call them and ask them about if there are any known issues with that particular RETS before buying their RETS importer tool, otherwise I would >HIGHLY< recommend buying the more expensive WP REALTY plugin which also has way more features and options as well as 100% RETS compatibility.
