Awesome plugin and user friendly too... Tried embedding photo galleries but then they always result to slow uploads, not until i found this one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/iframe-embed-for-momentme/... Free and no donations.

My website relies heavily on high content management. I'm limited in what I can do with the CMS in wordpress. I can't create albums or categories for my media, which I need to be able to separate for different areas of my site. This plug in really offers a lot of in-depth components & settings that can be customized to work with your theme (great shortcode & tons of widgets). It also functions as a tracking system for photos, which are each individually given ID# and album# (making it easier to call on & retrieve in shortcode). It also gives the ability to set photos as pending if you don't want to publicly release or publish them yet. These kinds of independent functionalities within the plug-in make it really awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLUG-IN !

Only thing that would make this awesome plug-in better ? A front-end uploader with an option to set up a nice excel, HTML, or Google Spreadsheet compatible database, or the ability to work with contact form 7/CTFDB.

I recently started using WP (3.5.1) and was looking for a good photo gallery plugin. I found WPPA+ (4.9.18). It is relatively easy to use. I did spend some time trying to figure where to change certain settings. Fortunately, I was able to quickly leverage support forum - others have had same or similar questions in the past. WPPA+ has many features (you, as a user, can but do not have to get into) and the author's support is outstanding. I can recommend this plugin to anyone who needs a photo gallery on their site.

I was looking for a plugin like this one only Yesterday.
My WP experience is very limited (only 1 month) but I did build some websites in the past.

I could set up some albums in a very short time with this plugin.
If I wanted something changed to my liking, I had to look up in the settings table where to do that, which costs a little time. Sometimes the help already refers to a table to make it easier.

It's well documented as well.

I think you need a little understanding of the structure, and invest a little time to understand the way the plugin works, but then it's a miracle plugin for me. It delivers great functionality and the albums on the site look very good now.

Working with this plugin is like stepping into the cockpit of a fighter jet: all kinds of technical levers and buttons. Shortcodes are far too technical for me to unleash on my clients.

Some of the interface is downright peculiar. For example, there are three separate boxes for uploading photos:

Box A: Multiple Photos in one selection
You can select up to 20 photos in one selection and upload them.

Box B: Single Photos in multiple selections
You can select up to 20 photos one by one and upload them at once.

Box C: Zipped Photos in one selection
You can upload one zipfile. It will be placed in your personal wppa-depot: .../wp-content/wppa-depot/{username}
Once uploaded, use Import Photos to unzip the file and place the photos in any album.

But doesn't Box B duplicate the functionality of Box A? And why does Box C involve extra steps? Why make no use of the WP media library functionality? Hello, drop target?

From the How to Start Instructions:

1. Install WP Photo Album Plus as described above under "Installation".
2. Create at least two albums in the "Photo Albums" tab. Leave "Parent" at "--- none ---".
3. In the uploads tab, you can now upload you photots. Upload at least 2 photos to each album. Make sure the photos you are uploading are of reasonable size (say up to 1024x768 pixels).
4. Create a new WP Page, name it something like "Photo Gallery" and put in the content: [wppa][/wppa]
5. Publish the page, and view the page from your WP site.
6. Now, go playing with the settings in the "Settings" panel, discover all the configurable options and watch what is happening when you re-open the "Photo Gallery" page.
7. If you want a "Photo of the day" sidebar widget you can use an album for that purpose. See all the options in the "Photo of the day" submenu.

Two albums, two photos? Why? Why shortcode only? And then it tells us to "go playing with the settings"? Odd.

It probably works well enough. But it's for people with some technical knowledge.

After spending some frustrating hours trying other well known gallery plugins and meeting a host of issues, I came across WP Photo Album Plus and it really is superb.
As previous users have said there are a multitude of options compared to other gallery plugins, and if you're thinking of a gallery you've got to plan a few months ahead when you'll have hundreds of images - how will you organize them etc. Sub albums, links, updates etc. This plugin has it all.
Can't recommend enough!

This plugin offers a lot of very nice features and it let's you set everything to your needs. If you like to do more, if you have special requirements, you are way better of with this plugin than nextgen or similar. The config looks huge and confusing at first, but it offers you all possibilities.

Having tried several gallery plugins, I gotta say this one is best there is. The support is fantastic - author Opajaap is consistently attentive. Every question I've had about waap has been answered in this forum. Other plugin authors could take a lesson in support. Thanks Opajaap!
