Exports your database, does a find and replace on URLs and file paths, then allows you to save it to your computer.
Works perfectly and does the job really fast.
In the past I used to manually export the DB with phpmyadmin then change the links with Notepad++ but sometimes this resulted in the loss of some plugins data.
Thank you for creating this plugin!
If you make your sites on a production system (XAMPP or WAMP) you NEEEDD this plugin!!!
Will save you countless hours of re-coding to make your site happen when you transfer it live!!!
I had no clue the WordPress importer is broken (per @mikkelbreum), so was extremely frustrated that I couldn't get my local site to migrate. Finally, after installing this little beauty, it worked flawlessly the first time. Thanks!
I do a lot of maintenance for my clients' websites, and use this plugin to make copies of their sites on my local server for testing. This plugin makes that process so much quicker and easier than when I was doing it manually. It just works. Huge life safer.
the official WP imorter is broken (can't handle images: http://www.wptavern.com/whats-going-on-with-the-wordpress-importer). For now, this plugin is a nice helper.
I'm glad I picked up the developer license of the Pro version of this plugin. I use it pretty much every day and it's saved hours of work. Thanks Brad!
Wonderful plugin, I use it every time I need to migrate a wordpress installation!!!
Yay! This is a really big time saver. And the Pro version is a great idea, will definitely be buying it. Great work!
This plug-in is awesome, it still leaves some stuff untouched that one has to update manually (like perma-links or layer slider locations and other 3rd party strings), but in most cases it only takes up to some minutes to fix.
I have had to be careful with old sites that were never converted to UTF-8 properly, so beware of that (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/utf-8-db-converter/ worked a charm)
This is my preferred way to migrate between servers and promote from dev to live.
