WP-Members™ is a free membership management framework for WordPress® that restricts content to registered users.
I had to update my review and commend Chad for helping me out with setting up
the 'Validate a Registration with PIN'
It works and now the officers who are members of our union (there are over 2000 members) can register on the site and have the last 4 digits of their SSN verified at the same time!
WP-Members definitely gets a 5 star rating!
I'm working on a site for my Union at work and had a little issue with the dropdown menu because of my php version and Chad took the time out to help me and get it working. I am very happy with his service and most of all happy with the plug-in as it will only allow members of the Union to register!
I uninstalled this post because it wasn't quite what I needed. It posted a warning that all changes made with the plugin would be undone. Fine. It then set my 'super_admin' user level to 'administrator' and, it also deleted the super admin role. That role is fairly integrated into the core and adding the role back does not resolve the issue. I had to restore from a previous database backup.
Works in 3.5 and Multisite, too! Now I can go home tonight.
holy god, are you kidding, this thing is amazing, the plugin is one of those out of the box, grab and go type ones... you install it, and pretty much it's ready with no work needing to be done!!!! this is a great plugin.
Amazing plug in works very well.
What i ligę iść not just te plugin itself but albo Richard information consensus provided by te autor ligę support, papierosów etc.
Above all, this plug-in is fulfilling my needs to 90%.
And it does make its job to 100%.
There was just one small drop of bitterness, probably with my 3.5de-version: After installation on the first page of WP-Members/Properties there have been a "snow storm" under the warnings - only white space! Why? A fatal error resulting from an undefined function call:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpmem_a_rss_box() in C:\xampp\htdocs\sujh01\wp-content\plugins\wp-members\admin\tab-options.php on line 36
So I edited the file, deleted the line and - it works! I don't know much about programming, but the properties were visible and the blocking of posts and pages works fine. So, give it a damn, ;-).
Thanks a lot for that great plug-in!
Greetings from Palatina/Germany
Short review: Just install it now!
Long review: From well-written to well-documented code to many great tutorials, and from frequent updates to a very responsive and friendly developer, I can confidently say, based on my own experience, that this is the best free membership plugin I've found so far. I've researched and reviewed (almost) every free members-related plugin out there, and this one just beats them all hands down IMO.
There lots of work in making a membership plugin and WP-Members has many details crafted in WP-Members however I would like to point out feedback which may be helpful.
- The support forum or for Premium support utilizes a blog format which if there were just a few post would be sufficient. I suggest using a forum script to provide a community support environment
- Add the ability to include an avatar or image for the member, this is all too basic and should be straight forward for non coders.
- CAPTCHA is counter productive and is a nuisance, therefore a human reaction field would be a better option.
The plugin has a form maker which is possibly the only membership plugin which offers this. You can add custom fields with a number of field types.
Gratitude for a great plugin.
