WP-Members™ is a free membership management framework for WordPress® that restricts content to registered users.
Unfortunately a calculation or human question/answer is not provided, which is a major missing function to prevent bots from registering. You would be spending too much time trying to weed out the good from the bots.
Works great to make simple customizations to front-end login screen. Thanks for the work!
Very useful plugin. I'm using it very hard. Thanks!
This plugin is really well done and works wonderfully! I always expect huge technical and functional problems with more complicated plugins like this, but that's not the case with WP-Members. It's well conceived, integrates nicely with native WP functions, and the details have been nailed for a great overall experience. Well done on a complex project, Chad!
Agree with others in this review. Stay away from this plugin. After hours I must delete all my work and restart from scratch. I set all pages to block by default, and i have set them not to block by default instead as the FAQ explain make a custom field block set to true but nothing works so this plugin are bad news for you.
Thanks for a great plugin.
Easy to use. Great guides. Lots of options without having to struggle with adding other plugins, changing php etc etc..
Got it up and running on my page within 15 minutes.
And I am a total beginner at WordPress.
Am very happy with this plugin!
(new install) WP 3.8.1 / twenty fourteen crashed. I made a new user registration. E-mail to a user's password has arrived but can not login. Result: "ERROR !" in the middle of a blank page! message ... After the database is broken .. STAY AWAY from this plugin ...
All in all if you are looking to set up a member section on your site and want to hide content this is worth a look.
There are a lot of other plugins that do this but they require you to pony up quite a bit of cash to get the same basic functionality. If you are a relatively new user this plugin is designed to be user friendly. The settings pages are straight forward and blend perfectly with the WordPress admin interface. Hats off to the developer for not making a separate WordPress admin menu but rather nesting the plugin settings where they should belong, under the settings menu.
If you know what you are doing and like to dabble with code, this plugin is highly extensible and has extensive documentation. Although I would like to see a feature for hiding the admin toolbar for logged in users and a redirect for default admin pages based on the user role, it in no way deterred me from using this plugin. Those items were easily handled with a few additions to the functions file.
Note: If you are using this plugin also take a look at the WordPress Access Control plugin. I found that these two plugins together unlocked some serious power on the WordPress back end.
Free version is amazing, but going premium unlocks even more amazing things. Loads of customising available and 10/10 support!
