WP e-Commerce is a free WordPress Shopping Cart Plugin that lets customers buy your products, services and digital downloads online.
I've been using this plug in for years. I was really happy with it when it first started using it.
At least you could search their forum to find answers from other people. Now, they've moved all free support to the WP site, so when you try to search, you search EVERY forum post.
It's buggy. It's always been buggy. I could usually figure it out, but I'll never use this plug in again, as soon as I can figure out a way to export and import all of the products into WooCommerce.
I'm really hating on this plug in.
A complex plugin like this needs sufficient support. This is clearly not the case with WPeC. A great potential completely wasted. Unless you are a developer yourself, I'd stay far far away from this rather shoddy platform. Nobody ever gets back to you unless you pay for premium support. The community is regularly fuming. There's no passion to deliver something that really works.
It's better to charge for a plugin and give free support, then to make it free and leave people with a half hearted product and zero help. I can only hope that somebody with the ambition to deliver a good product will take over soon.
Sure, WPEC works, and well from what I can see, but dealing with it is irksome. It lacks a certain intuitiveness and to me the fact that you have to pay $47 bucks for the presentation options in Gold Cart, though they throw in some payment gateways as well, just seems weak.
On the topic of Payment options, WPEC does not offer a PCI compliant Payment Gateway, unless you count PayPal Standard. Their Mijireh plugin costs $69 bucks for what is a "Free" Service (Mijireh takes a cut of your sale as payment). WooCommerce packages both PayPal Standard AND Mijireh in it's plugin.
There are just to many little annoyances in WPEC that seem to not be an issue with WooCommerce, not to say WooCommerce is perfect. However, it does seem that WPEC users are very much left to their own devices for things that would not be an issue in a more polished plugin.
It seems that if you're a coder, WPEC may be for you. If you like getting down with PHP, CSS, and whatever else go for it. I'm sure you will find a way to work out the kinks. If you want something that works and is more polished, look elsewhere.
thank you for plugin.
how to integrate Adyen payment in WP e-Commerce ?
please help me
There is no URL settings!!!
How can I set my own URL for products without these many subcategories ///
plugin would be great, if there was any support for it.
This is a truly horrible plugin.
But... If you want a plugin that deals with other peoples money to be flakey, buggy, break with updates and with no support... then this is the app for you!
Seriously, save yourself a lot of time and frustration and look elsewhere (Hint, Woo).
not a good ecommerce plugin at all.
Do yourself a favor and download WooCommerce instead.
Not only is this plugin buggy, but there's nowhere to report a bug. Their forums are all "user supported," so don't count on any help from there. You can, of course, pay $47 for each question (or bug report) that you would like to bring to their attention. I had to raise a PayPal dispute once for this "service," as my problem I asked for help with was ignored - until I filed the dispute.
The documentation is awful. Their "WPEC Consultants" won't bother to return e-mails or acknowledge them, so even if you're willing to pay someone to fix your store, you won't be able to find anyone to do so.
The store I run on this plugin is constantly losing sales because of a buggy shopping cart. My WooCommerce store has never had a problem - and I will be switching the other over to WC asap as this is how I earn my living, and I refuse to keep losing money each month.
Save yourself the aggravation and pass this one up.
I installed this plugin and it loaded in fine to chunk theme by automatic. When I logged into my dashboard however I got server errors when I clicked on anything. I am using wordpress 3.6. Would love to use the plugin though...
