Move or copy a WordPress site to another server or to another domain name, move to/from local server hosting, and backup sites.
Cloned my site elsewhere in under 5 minutes: pages, menus, themes, plugins, bells and whistles. This plugin rocks.
Easy to use, free and it does the job pretty good.
I recently found this, and it is BY FAR one of my favorite plugins. Big claims up-front, perfect delivery in action.
I have used this on heavy, complex custom sites, and it works. No fiddling with databases, no 40min x 2 ftp-transfers with the wp-content-folder. (12k files in ftp download, AND upload)
This plugin... Just set up WordPress, install plugin -> Import duplicate. Everything. Just. Works.
For developers and niche marketers: You can make your own "WordPress site template" with your favorite plugins, settings and themes. - Then duplicate the entire setup whenever you want to make a new site, all in 10 minutes.
My biggest concern now is installing older versions of WordPress on sites I want to duplicate to ensure compatibility.
This is my first review ever, and it is well deserved for the developer. I'm saving hours every week using this plugin. Thank you.
under 5 minutes
I just found this. What a time saver. I can copy a wordpress install onto my test server and make all the changes I want without killing a working site.
Finally a simple to use cloning tool that actually works... Great job guys.
We run training courses for WordPress at Web Training Solutions, in Ipswich UK. For every attendee we copy across a "starter" website using WP Clone, a brilliant tool that saves so much time, all the themes and plugins, and website settings setup and ready to roll.
An excellent plugin.
I use to clone and is fantastic
I clone this [ link redacted, please do not post links in the reviews section ] ; D
I tried this plugin after WP Move failed.
I started the backup and got it to work even though you do not get a confirmation that it is done. I simply got a white screen on both firefox and chrome. I nevertheless saw a backup created so I proceeded with the import.
copy and pasting the URL is easy but after starting the import I only got.... a white screen. I hit reload and got the 5 minute wordpress install screen. good thing this was only a test...
I guess I will have to copy everything manually with FTP and phpmyadmin, the current plugins to move wordpress seem to be broken with 3.8.
I was waiting for the catch, there was none. This allowed me to move my site to a different domain in less than 10 seconds, I only had one link not carry over, but it was simply wordpress magic!
