Improve your WordPress SEO: Write better content and have a fully optimized WordPress site using the WordPress SEO plugin by Yoast.
Does not calculate SEO scores based on Live preview of the web page. So, in effect all the seo scores shown in the backend are incorrect as this is not what search engines would view and rate for the keyword.
Because of this limitation WordPress SEO plugin misses out on all custom page templates, carousel plugins, slider plugins, basically any plugin/shortcode which auto generates content in a page/post is totaly missed by WordPress SEO.
All the content which is stored in Post Meta information but shown in the post/pages front view is also missed.
Example 1: Your theme may add a title and a subtitle to a post. The sub-title is stored in a custom field in h2 tag. Missed in content evaluation.
Example 2: You create a Wonderful slider (Layerslider/Revolution slider etc..) on the homepage, with H2, h3 tags to attract information. Missed in content evaluation.
Example 3: You show contact information from the options panel in the header section of the theme. Missed in content evaluation.
Where WordPress is progressing as a CMS, this is a serious limitation of this plugin. Not all the information is stored in the WP Editor.
every update gives a serious bug, that sometimes broke my website
I'm sure this plugin works great. I only installed it to create an xml sitemap so I could submit it to Google Webmaster Tools. I kept getting an error. I read workarounds on how to fix it. I don't know enough about WordPress to comfortably go in and manually change stuff so I just uninstalled this plugin and installed another one that worked immediately.
I'm not rating this on any other SEO features it has. I honestly don't know anything about that.
After the wordpress 3.8.1 i i cant get into my frontpage editor and still if i can the plugin doesn´t work.
I would give this plugin 5 stars but because of this error i give it 3 stars.
Support is just not there when things don't work or have bugs
Indeed, the plugin makes you think about SEO-rank of almost any WP element. But there is one huge problem with it's sitemap generation feature. Well, it doesn't work! Indeed, it's generate an xml maps but they are not valid and Google WebMaster tool says you've got no sitemap.
For such a good plugin, I don't understand why I end up using sitemap and breadcrumb plugins by someone else.
I've posted the problems before, and never received any help. Actually, I don't think Yoast even views these boards. I thing we're pretty much on our own.
It's a great plugin but if you have a lengthy keyword specially above 3/4 words, then you should not keep the density above 1%. For instance, if your word is "how to make money online". It constitutes of 5 words. In a 1000 word article, if you repeat it 10 times to come on par with minimum 1% density, Google would deem it as OVER OPTIMIZATION. IMO the actual density would be 50/1000 words, 5% which is way too much high.
You would be hit with a penalty and your page won't rank. Its one of the reason, sites like howtogetridofstuff.com have suffered in the recent past. All the EMDs also suffered because their content was over optimized. Besides, Google now wants to see diversified keywords. I would strongly suggest you to use variants of keywords.
works well with latest standards in SEO
