Allows you to display a fancy popup to visitors, a *very* effective way of advertising a mailing list, special offer or running a plain old ad.
Can't do much.. it's so basic it's not even funny. Doesn't give you examples and what the settings would be. Tried it out with a popup, and it's terrible. It wants to go to the image that I have as a popup.. it's not customizable. Waste of time.
Don't work in any way in a Wootheme...
Firfox only shown part of the popup. Chrome works perfectly by the way.
the plugin isnt bad...except u have to do some coding to get rid of an annoying spam caption about another plugin they make that appears on EVERY SINGE PAGE of the back end.
it seems tons of ppl have complained, but the stupid spam caption remains, and with no easy way to turn it off.
to the devs: ur decision to include this bit of spam, and make it hard to turn off, and ignore the million ppl before me that have complained of the very same thing has turned an otherwise 4 star rating into a single star. now is it really worth it?
There is no way to shade out the background of the popup from the plugin interface so it ends up this weird floating box in the middle of the page. It does that and it does it well which could work for some, but not what I was looking for.
The low star rating, however, is thanks to the weird warning message it leaves at the top of EVERY SINGLE SCREEN in the admin area, not just the plugin's screen asking you to install the update notification plugin from WPMU DEV. Want to add a new post? Oh look, an annoying red box. There is no way to get rid of it. No. Thanks.
all the issues with this plugin that are repeated by everyone that has not bought a support package from wpmudev is true. i installed the plugin configured a pop up and there is no sign of how to insert this pop up in a page. ill stay away from all their products coded to make money not productive for wordpress.
Places an ugly message on top of every admin page as long as you don't register/download for new version on commercial side.
Deleted it at once
All I can say is this:
Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare(), called in /home/sitename/public_html/test/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-popup/popoverincludes/classes/popoverpublic.php on line 92 and defined in /home/sitename/public_html/test/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 990
right after I installed and configured everything. Seems like it is a nice plugin, quite a number of features, but it doesn't work.
after installation couldn't acces the popup menu due to a fatal error. After deactivation and delete, the plugin let behind two orphaned database tables.
As soon as the plugin is installed, a nag warning box persists in the wp-admin area prompting the user to download another plugin for version release updates.
Funny, I thought WordPress already had that covered.
After a little research, it turns out that installing the second plugin won't put an end to nag warning messages i.e. an alert persists pushing the user into getting an API key. Furthermore, the second "required" plugin reportedly results in what's been described as dashboard spamming.
I've uninstalled the plugin due to this aggressive and essentially annoying style of marketing.
I'm happy to opt for an inferior pop-up plugin that doesn't intrusively pressurize me into becoming a premium consumer.
