I needed to move a WordPress site from my test server to the client's official server. It was the first time I'd built a site remotely, so I was a little scared (terrified) about migrating the site to the new server. All the reading I'd done on the subject warranted nightmares.

This plugin works great. Make sure you get the root directory right, other wise you'll have to manually move the backup files (using FTP) to the correct folder. Once there, though, it's pretty plug-and-play. I'll be using it again!

I am thrilled that I found this plugin! I regularly move wordpress installs and it has always been a very painful process until now! Kudos and many thanks for a great plugin!!

I've just delivered another site to the live domain using this plugin. I find that manual ftp is more reliable but apart from that it works like a dream.

Easy to use and understand, helps to know a bit about ftp if you get a bit stuck - but restored my development site and changed urls like a dream - even maintained user passwords

OK--I need to move my WP site from Host A to Host B.
From the previous comments, you have to have WP installed on the receiving side. Can I upload a backed-up file to the new server, or will this plugin walk me through the steps to do FTP?
