Import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags and more from a WordPress export file.
50% of the time you'll end with missing posts, images, etc
Only works in VERY small blogs
Plugin generate a language update request which always fail
I have build several dozen wordpress sites and dealt with hundreds of plugins. This one is the worst. Sure other plugins don't work, but this one has no excuse. When exporting from one wp blog and importing to another, WP has complete control of the format of the export and how it is imported. Why then does this plugin fail 90% of the time? It gets most pictures uploaded and then crashes. The only option is to delete everything that was imported and try again. I have worked my way through their trouble shooting (file not too big, format is correct, etc) and none of them work. I love WP. I just wish someone would figure out a way to make this most basic function actually function.
This is severely screwing up my site not having this plugin working. I can't upload any of the dummy content and plugins specifically from the creator in order to have the site run. I doubt WP is going to fix this any time soon. I am beyond mad.
This plugin is broken. It does not import images or featured images and maybe more. A quick search reveals that it has been broken for some time. Moving content around is a critical part of any active blog. The fact that this has been going on for so long disappoints me.
This plugin won't work unless you are importing tiny blogs or do have a badass server that won't choke on a 2MB import file.
WordPress really needs to make a staggered importer and bring support for on-server files. You can't rely on max_upload_size directives to import a medium blog these days.
While the WP team has been hard at improving many aspects of WordPress this is one aspect that has been severely neglected! For months the WordPress Importer has not functioned correctly. Tons of unresolved tickets in the support forums with common problems like media not being imported correctly.
After all these years of WordPress development I can't believe they still haven't provided a fool-proof way of importing blogs. After using this and failing to import my blog (some of the database entries are there but it's very muddled) I searched the user forum and it is full of closed, unsolved threads from users unable to import their blog.
I just feel WordPress is burying its head in the sand on this one. Disappointing, considering everything else about WordPress is great.
Sucks. Didn't import media even if I selected the option to import all attachments. What now? Should I upload my hundreds of images one by one?
