WooCommerce is a powerful, extendable eCommerce plugin that helps you sell anything. Beautifully.
I've worked with Shopp, WP e-Commerce and WooCommerce on some major projects and WooCommerce is definitely the most stable and has great documentation.
This is an amazing ecommerce plugin. I have recently changed all my ecommerce sites over from WP E-commerece to Woo, sooooo much better.
The reason that I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 though is that I have a problem I can't seem to rectify. At the moment I have the Default 'Category Display option' set to both. This does display the subcategory thumbnails and product thumbnails but there is no discernible order. The subcategory images are first and then a pretty much random group of product thumbnails from all subcategories follow. I would like them to display in groups of the subcategories. This seems like quite a logical function to me, after all isn't this the way products are displayed in most shops around the world? I maybe missing something but I cannot seem to find this function anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
After being stuck at first base on something quite simple, it's now looking much more promising.
Once you get the hang of how you are supposed to do things, it is quite logical and easy to use.
There are things I will need to do which at the moment are not immediately visible - this may mean getting the purchased version. If this is the case, then it should become a very useful plugin.
I have been able to fit it into my theme and change CSS elements so that the e-commerce pages styling is consistent.
As above I think there should be clearer documentation on some simple processes. Will report back when i've gone further.
So far all is going well with Woocommerce. Whenever I need help I get a response within 24 hours if not quicker. Thank you so much.
Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars: some extensions need to be bought from WooCommerce to optimize the store, and the WooCommerce shop does not accept bitcoin for payment.
WooCommerce really needs to add a bitcoin payment gateway to their own shop!
I have tried this plugin for embedding a photo stream on my website. Simple to use and works fast http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/iframe-embed-for-momentme/. It automatically collects images from social events worldwide and its free…
I really hate this plugin for messing up my db and no doc for uninstall and not sure the purpose of having uninstall.php for ?
This plugin is free but warn user abt what you going to mess with and create proper doc, not half way doc .....
yes i know is free, support only valid to pay customer, but this is free plugin and we using free features not pay features ...
is cool plugin .... just can't use it cause not compatible with my theme, when deactive it but remaining .... now solve
will try it when i have more time
simple to use very effective
Fantastic plugin with some great extensions and themes available. The only problem I have is that some of the documentation is either out of date or extremely vague and unhelpful. You're better off just googling around than reading the official guidance.
This product is 3X better than Marketpress but it still needs improvement.
The biggest problem for me was dealing with image sizes and CSS issues. The software authors should spend more time giving the WP user more control/options over image size and image placement. Using this with a non-woo theme is not recommended unless you have a lot of time and money to spend working out CSS compatibility issues. Support is slow but does come. My single request for help took about 72 hours to get a reply. I did get a reply but only after hiring a CSS specialist and solving the problem myself. Still it's free and they provide free support and that does say a lot.
IMO this is probably the best eCommerce plugin for WordPress.
