WooCommerce is a powerful, extendable eCommerce plugin that helps you sell anything. Beautifully.
For me it's the best so far i had tested.. really good ;)
I've spent 3 hours to determin that the international shiping method is only a premium feauture.
I entered my PayPal address but paypal payment gateway option is not available for the cart. I have to assume this is premium also?
Doesn't appear to be a way to reduce shipping cost as items are added to the cart. is this premium also?
Premium features are fine, when you know what they are. Who has time to discover which features are availble through trial and error?
Per there own website documents and documentation on wordpress the free woocommerce plugin features includes:
Payment Gateways, Shipping Methods and Integrations are important to any store - WooCommerce comes bundled with the following:
PayPal Standard Gateway - Accept credit cards and PayPal payments
But the way in which the have coded that paypal button it eliminates the ability to allow customers to pay with a credit card and are forced to create a paypal account.
And unless you buy something from woocommerce you can't get support. I thought i had setup incorrectly and spent a day trying to figure out and get help all to later learn from a woocommerce web designer that if you want the credit card feature without paypal account requirement you have to shell out $99.

I am a plugin developer (link moderated) and I have developed several extensions for Woocommerce, and some for other Ecommerce plugins that I will not name and shame. From this perspective Woocommerce is the best free Ecommerce plugin for WordPress, and offers far more than some of the paid alternatives out there. I don't think there is anything that you can sell online that can't be sold through Woocommerce.
Old version was working just fine. Updated this weekend and now variable products cannot be placed into the cart because no "Add to Cart" button appears.
I'm losing orders and money. Can't talk to tech support. Frustrated and my boss is recommending we switch back over to a more expensive hosted cart like BigCommerce.
Looking at the capabilities, this plugin really is a great e-commerce plugin. However, this plugin is made to FORCE you to buy their themes.
Theming this by oneself is impossible. You are forced to have their pages, and also the widgets don't appear on normal wp pages, just on the their pages.
So you can't have pages that display products from certain categories and add widgets where you want, thereby making a custom site. You have to use THEIR pages (why would they even do this?), and it is their way or the high way.
As I said, this plugin is made to force you to buy their themes.
Why not just have a free version with limited capabilities and a paid one with extended capabilities and allow people to make custom sites damn it?
I love this plugin. Easy to setup, well documented and easy to customize. A developers dream.
Clearly woo support is at best not there. They must take weekends off. Like woo support I would like a 9-5 day with the website only up for those hours. Not only is the support lacking in correct information but also not realizing that they are in business because of us their customers. I know I'm old school but I do remember the saying, "Customer is King." Wake up
Easy to use, great design, first-class support. Individual extensions. We congratulate!!
