WooCommerce is a powerful, extendable eCommerce plugin that helps you sell anything. Beautifully.
I have been developing e-commerce sites for 10 years and finally feel confident that I have a stable and viable WordPress solution in woocommerce 2.0.
Just completing my latest site for parrot cages based on superstore theme. So much easier than customising hmtl templates :)
I'm a wordpress developper, i created dozens of plugins for multiple usages and a few themes for simples wordpress sites.
Recently, a client askes me for an e-commerce website, I tried 4 of the highets ranked shopping cart and woocommerce is my favourite.
I didn't bought a single plugin from their online shop, none fitted my needs, so i cannot say anything about the support.
My client needed a custom theme and some core modification (new payment gateway, selling item by meter, ...)The theme took me about two weeks and the plugins one week, i never developped on Woocomerce before.
The documentation isn't really developped but not bad check it here :
The product variations and the product attributes allow you to sell almost everything in a fashionable manner. The checkout page is well designed even in te default theme. The email alerts are pretty useful and well parametred. There is a lot of translations, but some are kinda bad, i used french and some texts doesnt make any sense, but it's almost nothing (2-5%). The taxes system is clear and nicely formated. The shipping is nice and work pretty well, but the international parameters aren't enought, by default you cannot define groups of international shipping cost by countries, there is some plugins to fix that on their online shop though.
One of the best thing about this plugin is the overall graphical and logical design. As a developper, i do not really care about it, but your customers will. Woocommerce is really ergonomic, even poorly experienced people will be able to use it with ease.
I simply love this plugin!!
I doest it all when it comes to e-commerce!
I've worked with Shopp, WP e-Commerce and WooCommerce on some major projects and WooCommerce is definitely the most stable and has great documentation.
Failed tabs, images galleries.
This is an amazing ecommerce plugin. I have recently changed all my ecommerce sites over from WP E-commerece to Woo, sooooo much better.
The reason that I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 though is that I have a problem I can't seem to rectify. At the moment I have the Default 'Category Display option' set to both. This does display the subcategory thumbnails and product thumbnails but there is no discernible order. The subcategory images are first and then a pretty much random group of product thumbnails from all subcategories follow. I would like them to display in groups of the subcategories. This seems like quite a logical function to me, after all isn't this the way products are displayed in most shops around the world? I maybe missing something but I cannot seem to find this function anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Really perfect. Love it
am so happy
Bought three of their commercial addons -- close to $300 -- and have not had any response to a support ticket I submitted 5 days ago.
Even free plugins provide better support than that!
I will not ever recommend WooCommerce again.
