WooCommerce is a powerful, extendable eCommerce plugin that helps you sell anything. Beautifully.
Thanks for the great plugin guys! I switched off Cart66 and I am stoked by the amount of hooks for developers. Good Job! I am an EX Plett local so I hope to look you guys up in CapeTown on my next visit home!
This is now the third day we've tried to accommodate this plugin. The shopping cart doesn't seem to work even on woothemes. Support is all but non-existent, but frustration is at an all-time high. I would recommend staying right away from this product unless you have more time and patience than you know what to do with.
I just had a meeting with my web developer and she told me WooCommerce is stressing the heck out of her, specifically when you click on a product category, and the list of products comes up, the product images in the list simply do not display. She tried to research a fix, and showed me all the google searches she conducted wherein so many people have the same problem. To see if it was my theme causing the problem, she even created a test drive account on the WooCommerce site and ran into the same problem using a Woo Theme.
Considering the amount of time that has been wasted on such a ridiculous problem, I'm considering NOT going with WooCommerce. I should have known better choosing a free cart. Better to pay more and have peace of mind with a hosted cart.
Screwing around for a week and coming up with what I did...I want my week back. There is a known image resize problem that makes everything blurry in the store...not good if you are selling images, no adequate help or advice on how to fix it save knowing CSS inside out. This app is a total waste of time. Go directly to paypal and figure out something that is far visually superior to this product.
Nothing better than woocommerce shopping cart..
It has complete features, I always use it in my development.
Highly recommendable... :)
I find it best till now as compared to other eCommerce plugins in wordpress.
When I go to upload an image, its broken, is that bc its the free version? Anyways, very detailed and was fun to play with up until the adding a product part...
Reflects in some areas a lack of usability knowledge - and lack of experience with general processes and structures.
Considering that this plugin is however programmed by mostly young people it's great work!
Woo Commerce changed its pricing structure recently (August 2013). Keeping a typical Woo-based store with, say, 10 extensions and plug-ins running will now cost you $1000+ to keep up-to-date. That's per website, per year! Calculate your needs and costs carefully before you commit to this platform.
This is a wonderful plugin if you don't use super cache or you don't use the shopping cart widget. If you use both, then the cart is basically useless. I am aware of a 'work around' with the Late init super cache setting, but that basically makes super cache useless, AND, it doesn't work properly any way.
I'm a developer, I've looked at the code, the cart is saved in a session variable, somebody at woo needs to write code to load the cart by ajax from the session when the page loads. Other ecommerce plugins do this so they can coexist with super cache or w3 total cache.
