What The File adds an option to your toolbar showing what file and template parts are used to display the page you’re currently viewing.
As a new user, "What The File" has been very helpful in site negotiation. Thanks for the tool!
That feature should be bundled into the default WP installation.
But it isn't.
Luckily this plugin has been written.
Only been using it a few weeks, and already it's saved me days in minutes. To clarify:
You buy a WP theme—a mediocre one or a gone one, let's say a good one—and you have to locate something simple, which is of course buried in includes/functions/variations/youllneverfindthis.php. You spend 30 minutes tracking it down, after which you have no energy to do the little thing you meant to do when you started, so you do something else for a while, and postpone the little thing till tomorrow.
What the File cuts out the search, and thereby cuts out the day. See? Days saved in under a minute.
Great plugin very useful for devs.
Works as advertised.
You've saved me time and trouble with this plug-in. Simple, yet powerful.
works smooth, great for working on template files.
Such a simple plugin. But this has saved me a lot of hours of headache. Its a default plugin I use for all new WordPress installs. Thanks.
It's great how some small things can save you a lot of time. Great tool.
Simple and effective. Makes determining which template files make up a page super easy.
