Easy Web Performance Optimization (WPO) using caching: browser, page, object, database, minify and content delivery network support.
The plugin keeps spamming for me to add an advertisement link and/or sign up for their newsletter. I guess that after 30 days, it pops up everytime you do anything with the plugin configuration. This is annoying and since the plugin didn't really do much for me in terms of speed, I deleted it. Good riddance.
So there are many caveats with this plugin. If you enable it, it will probably break your sitemaps. And you will have to spend hours looking for a fix. Secondly, if you turn on debug, it is SUPPOSE to be in an html comment. You know the "<!--" and a closing "-->" But it clearly is not. It is definitely visible on the page... But wait, there's more...
So you try and uncheck them to disable the debug, and guess what... They will not turn off. Tried to flush the cache nope... Cleared browser cache.. nope. Started disabling caches inside the plugin, and the "non-comments" reflected the caches I was disabling. Tried the "reset to defaults button"... Guess what, still there. Deleted the entire cache directory and they still existed. This thing was harder to kill than a terminator. Finally disabling the plugin was the only solution. That definitely fixed it. Re-enabling it, again that freaking message was there. It even permeates the sitemap, even though I have not to cache *.xml and sitemap* . The only solution is to disable entirely and delete.
I use this specially for the CDN (Content Delivery Network) option that has dramatically improved the speed of my sites.
This plug is so complex and messed up that it requires you to pay someone to set it up.
I've setup W# plugin on more than a dozen sites including Shared Hosting,
VPS, Dedicated Servers, and it has failed every time. Yes Failed.
You might think I'm stupid. Maybe. But I have over 50 sites under management and when a plugin is this complex and sloppy in its implementation, I think it ain't me.
The plugin can't give you the right setup specs for the plugin to work. The unknown status for server setups is left in a neutral color. Setup W3 Total Cache without the right apache handler in place, and your site will suffer.
So first off, the developer give no clues as to the importance of the server setup specs . . . all neutral colors, no warnings. But that is kind of like removing the oil or gas gauges on your car. You have to run out of gas or freeze up your engine before you know status of your gas level or how hot your engine is getting.
So from the get go, this plugin is a failure . . . or they just want you to pay to get it setup.
I've written into the developer two years ago and again a year ago, and, well, all I have to assume is he cares only for getting the setup money. If you want to set it up and use the FREE version, why should he care that it doesn't work or doesn't give you appropriate and expected information to make it work.
Why would I wait this long to write a review. My choice for all website setups using WordPress WP Fastest Cacehe.
It is simple, clean, and works to improve site speed on Shared, VPS and Dedicated servers. It work with NGNIX or not.
I actually have a lot more to say about why W3 is a non-starter. But I'll leave it at this: If you want to drive your car without an oil gauge, then use W3 Total Cache, but then be prepared to pay the price: a slow site or a payment to get the plugin setup correctly.
If you know how to set it up then it works great - much better then other plugins. It took a programmer to walk me through the multiple steps.
This Plugin actually makes an entire page disappearing on my site !.. for unknown reason !... and i don't want to understand why .... i just changed to another cache plugin and everything works well again !..
Very happy with this nice plugin!
My site was horrendously slow (WordPress seems to suffer from this) and this helped a lot!
This helped speed up my website
Everything is a lot faster.
