With the "User Access Manager"-plugin you can manage the access to your posts, pages and files.
This is a simple and easy to understand role scope plugin, does not clutter the view for customers to much and is a good choice before stepping up into a more complex system.
The advantage is the avabililty to scope the media, and the only thing I miss is a dropdown "sort by users" in media manager or library view.
However, the table sort by user works.
Very logic chosen functionality. If you are locking for grouping wordpress default roles and give them access to diffrent post and media, individual or hide post or access completly in front end, without interfear to much with the core scope, this is a way to go.
Thanks for contribute to the World of open source through WordPress.
Works for me, Showing unallowed comments bug is resolved now.
I had some other issues come up on my site and had to re-build. Now running 18.104.22.168 it won't let me attach user roles to my user groups.
On a side note, it broke my SB Welcome Email plugin so now I have to find something else that will work.
Any idea's are welcome!
In 2012 I needed this plugin and I liked it very much. It's the only one in its kind.
But this plugin isn't updated for over 1 year now. And developper is not available on supportforum at all. So I don't update my (extensive) webite because I'm scared what will happen with this plugin..
Also, if you have a lot of restricted pages attached to a lot of usergroups (25 groups or more) the website is very slow.
Works great and is finally the solution I've been looking for to manage large websites where only some groups have access to different branches of content. Combine this with BU Versions and you'll have a complete editorial workflow with great security in place.
Thanks very much for writing this plugin. It does what it says on the tin! I have been able to secure pages very effectively with it on my sites.
The only issue I have is that on one of my sites where I am using a non-standard WordPress theme and customised home page, I don't get the message displayed -'You don't have access etc..' come up when I am redirected onto the home page. But I guess this is probably the code in my homepage/theme that's preventign this.
Sure, happy to donate something :) You should start accepting BitCoin donations though )
