With the "User Access Manager"-plugin you can manage the access to your posts, pages and files.
Plugin doesn't works according to my needs. Plus Its JS is conflicting with my website's JS.
I usually don't write reviews for plugins but I have to say this plugin is outstanding!!
I was faced with the dilemma of finding a new plugin to control user access to specific pages after the multi-password for protected pages plugin I was using stopped working with WP upgrade to 3.8.1 (I was told that plugin would not be updated anytime soon by it's author).
Not only did this plugin achieve the user control I previously enjoyed using protected pages with multiple passwords, it exceed it and will prove to make my life much easier in the process.
The plugin does exactly what it's called: user access management. For my purposes, I simply needed to: Create user groups; assign users to said user groups; assign user groups to specific pages I want to control access to. It's that simple.
Within a very small amount of time I had this plugin completely integrated in my website. Now instead of adding a password to every page of a set of pages I want a specific user to access, I simply add the user to that specific group with the click of a mouse. What a time saver this will prove to be for me.
I would highly recommend this plugin for not only it's functionality but intuitiveness and ease of integration as well. Great job!
I probably did not understand how this plugin works, but the only thing I was able to do is define a group; I did not understand how to define related rights nor how to allocate users to the group.
Not intuitive at all to me
Bisher auf mehreren WP-Installationen erfolgreich eingesetzt. Macht genau, was es soll.
Install the plugin, create a group, assign individual users to that group, go to the page you want protected and check "group only" access, optionally do the same with (downloadable) files the gallery. Done.
Works with 3.8
The funtionality works good and it's easy to set up.
that I miss on most other access rights plugins. If you look for a plugin that allow you to lock specific posts or pages and allow access only for specific user groups, this one is for you.
But, I also experienced some bugs/problems with the redirect function on locked pages. The redirect didn't work for me (redirect to an access applocation form), instead the visitor gets a 404 error page which is not cool. Maybe it's a conflict with other plugins, maybe a bug, we will see.
This was a perfect solution for being able to implement basic read access and edit access for me.
