Allows users to turn text into a tooltip or popup using a special [tippy] tag.
I used to use the Text Hover plugin by Scott Reilly. But in WP 3.6.1 the underline was not displaying. Did a quick search and found this plugin. Worked like a charm. And I must say, Tippy is way better than Text Hover !
Tippy is a wonderful tooltip plugin that allows for html markup in the content. You can add photos, bolded or italicized text, and even embed a sound recording or video.
The option panel allows for considerable tweaking. You can even require that the tooltip link (which can be either text or a graphic) be clicked before the tooltip will open, making it behave much like a conventional popup. Amazing!
I absolutely love this plugin and encourage everyone to make a donation to the developer for a job well done, and also to encourage ongoing development.
Very awesome plugin... best of all text pop-ups :)
Tippy is my hero. I was searching and searching for a good tool-tip plugin that could handle images. Tippy does that and more in a clean, easy to understand manner. I <3 Tippy. :*
Tippy + Glossy is exactly what I was looking for! Tried tons of similar plugins to make a list of people with onclick pop-up bio details, and each plugin was flawed in some way... Glossy+Tippy does the trick easily!
This is an awesome plugin. It's simple to use and it totally answered my need to share a tidbit of info in a clean, clear way. Thank you for sharing!!
Easy to use and highly customisable. Love it!
they both not only work well, but also very promptly too!
This is one of the plugins that save tons of time and trouble, easy to customize and always working as expected.
Big thanks to Chris!
Very good plugin. Works perfectly.
Thanks for acting quickly on my suggestion to add swap title.
Your enthusiasm is simply great. The support that you provide is outstanding!
This plugin is really worth to donate a few bucks ... !!!
I tested Tippy 4.1.4 with WP 3.5.1 for scenarios: hover-over text yielding text box, image, and youtube video popups and each scenario worked just fine! All settings/options I tested worked just fine: fast popup, fade-in popup, show/no-show header, auto-close/remain-sticky, moving the tooltip N px to the right and down.
I successfully tested with the Tippy shortcodes inside table cells of a table defined by the plugin WP-Table-Reloaded (now called TablePress) and the Tippy shortcodes worked just fine!
I haven't tried the custom CSS yet, but plan to in the future. The default CSS seems reasonable, for quick start use of the plugin.
I would highly recommend this plugin for hover-over popup needs. My client loved it.
