Theme Test Drive
Safely test drive any theme as an administrator, while visitors use the default one.
The good thing is that the plug-in works, although looks like the same functionality is available in the standard Live Preview. Maybe it is more usable for people with smaller screens, but with high-res it makes no difference.
The bad thing... Actually I needed the functionality provided by /?theme=my_custom_theme URL parameter for sending URLs with "test" theme to some people for approval. And these people are not interested to perform several steps like logging in, clicking something etc; they just want to click an URL from their email client and see the "test" version on their screen. By default this parameter is not working for "everyone", only for the logged in users :(.
I've found some workaround to make the URL parameter work after several hours of experiments, but it still not exactly what I need.
The overall concept is great. However, there a few bugs that have been driving me mad. When you enable the plug-in and select the theme, the menus on the other themes are reset. This seems to happen no matter what other plug-ins I have activated.
Thank you for making this invaluable plugin freely available. I was able to configure my new theme without any worries!
Your plugin is a godsent, loving it! Now I can switch themes slowly but surely without my visitors seeing some half-assed sh1t.
Its got potential, didnt work with sidebar widgets. after enabling none of the sidebar widgets came and when i added widgets manually then it removed all my existing ones.
I installed and within a matter of seconds, chose the theme I wanted to work with before it went live. I can see the theme and move around the site with the new theme, others can't.
