The Stop Spammers Plugin checks comments and logins using many methods to stop spammers.
I need to add also the port number of each IP into the stats.
where to do it ?
I have a small membership site (50 people or so thus far) and allow open registration. I let the site run on auto-pilot as the publishers do a great job adding content and love what they're doing.
Without this plugin I would have loads and loads of spammers registering on my site!
Thanks! If you don't continue with this plugin, I hope you can find someone who is willing to maintain it - it's a life saver!!
Thanks for this plugin, it works really great in blocking spam :)
It may be late to write a review when I discover that the plugin will be discontinued... But we have been using it for 6 month, and it kind of changed our life. Ok, we sometime have some "real" users blocked, but this plugin remains a great solution. Thanks !
works perfectly never any issues, very compatible. Thank you!
Just upgraded to v5.7 which works fine & the widget is showing 1066 spammers blocked (I've only had it in less than 3 days).
I used to get 2000/day spam comments, now I get 50 or so & they are auto-submitted to the database, just need a single-click mass delete.
It's worth registering at all the databases & being registered in the StopForumSpam system.
Thank you Keith,

Not sure who told me about this plugin, but I am glad for it. Comprehensive in its coverage and, because it draws on APIs from HoneyPot, BotScout, and StopForumSpam, helped me use those services too.
On my list of favorites, so I am happy to recommend to others.
Really appreciate this plugin. It's blocked an incredible number of potential spammers while providing a way for legitimate users to reach out to us for white list inclusion. Thank you so much!
Everything working great. Nice feeling to know I have a tool providing my sites with a great security gate. Definitely worth a donation, I do not work for free and would not expect others to either. Thanks, great work.
Will look into applying the: 'free API keys for Project Honeypot, StopForumSpam, botscout, etc because I too like to report the dotty little spammers'
I've been using this plugin for several months now, on a large membership site where we had to keep the registration open. As others say, it just works out of the box. It's cut down on 98% of the spam registrations. There are many options but if you accept the defaults, it works just fine. I quickly signed up for the free API keys for Project Honeypot, StopForumSpam, botscout, etc because I like to report the dotty little spammers so the rest of the world can benefit from our data.
