Easily add tooltips to your wordpress site.
This is a great plugin. It uses the standard and very lightweight Zebra Tooltips jQuery script and adds a configuration panel so you can change some of the parameters (colors and such).
But what should be made more clear -- especially for newbies -- is how to use it. Yes, I know, it's right there in the description. HTML elements with class="tooltips" will have the title="" element put up as a tooltip.
But how about a prominent box in the Settings page explaining what you actually need to do (besides installing the plugin) to set up a tooltip? An HTML example would be nice. Or maybe even, for advanced users, an example of a jQuery script that would add classes and titles to elements that don't have them (see this post by Sridhar Katakam for an example).
That's my two cents, anyway. Great effort, overall. Very helpful. Highly recommended. Many thanks.
Work like a charm! Congrats!
Works great, and great support from the author. I tried every one before settling on this one as it works perfectly and is well supported! Thanks.
Excellent plugin. It makes my tooltips look nicer than ever in the computer browser and also in my Ipad. I could add style to the boxes and everything worked fine.
I totally recommend this plugin.
I tried a number of tool tip plugins but had challenges with each of them with our application. Then I found Simple Tooltips.
We had it functioning perfectly within minutes!
When we discovered a bug, the developer was back with a fix within hours.
Over the past few years I have used hundreds of plugins. Tooltips is definitely in the top 1%.
