Have been looking for something like this for ages. I have a self-hosted site that includes a WP directory for a 'members only' area. The plugin ensures that access to this part of the site can only be gained by registered users, who must log in.
This is a better solution than protecting the WP folder using cPanel, which produces worrying browser warnings regarding unencrypted passwords.
