Automatically encodes every e-mail address in a mailto tag on posts and pages to prevent spam. Simply decodes any previously encoded e-mail address by
Works easily and seamlessly.
I gave this plugin 5 stars because it has always been excellent and I genuinely appreciate the work the developer has done to provide this at no cost to website developers... That having been said, THERE IS A PROBLEM! The latest version crashes all my WordPress installations so that I cannot even login to the site and the public site cannot be viewed. The only option is to login via FTP and disable the plugin. Once that is done, the site works again. Sadly, I will be deleting this plugin because of the problem.
My hosting company actually helped me track down this issue by narrowing it down to this plugin. I have used the plugin on most all of my websites (which are all with the same hosting company) except for a couple... The two on the same hosting account that don't have it are the only ones that remained working.
Please fix this plugin! It's really a great plugin and I'd love to be able to continue use... however, I am deleting it since it no longer is working.
Sad to say, this plugin has brought down two of my sites. Back end and front end show: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/glasgow/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-mail-address-encoder/simple-mail-address-encoder.php on line 173".
Had to delete the plugin using ftp.
works good, sofar I can see
Simple and very usefull plugin!
Automatically encodes email-addresses, just as it says. On the screen email addresses are openly shown to a human, while a bot cannot find an email-address there.
In the source code instead of the email address in plain text, each letter is written with its HTML character entity (number). Looks just the same when the browser displays it.
Simple to install and totally effective at encrypting email addresses so that spammers can't harvest them. Thank you!!!!
doesn't interfere with other stuff on my site, so I like it a lot!
If all you want to do is encode email addresses to prevent spammers from harvesting your email address...this is the plugin to us. It's simple to install and works perfectly.
It's a well-designed and well-maintained plugin that I'm very happy I've found, because all my clients eagerly post their email addresses every chance they get, even though I've created contact forms for them. *Fight spam*
