After uploading latest versions of WordPress and FSContactForm in December, we noted a strange behavior. While contact forms used on posts or pages still worked fine, a form that was embedded in a text widget suddenly began inserting about 8" of blank space at the top of the form before displaying the fields for the user to fill out.
Any idea why?
Before this strange occurrence, I would have given this plug in 4 or 5 stars.
The features are there but the interface just doesn't work well.
While I was first excited to find the plugin and looked forward to using it.
I was shocked to find it chocked full of SPAM.
One HUGE banner right at top to ThemeFuse.
If your client sees this they get an invitation to buy services from someone else.
The other SPAM problem is with vCita. You get a warning notice at the top of your page warning you that you don't have vCita enabled and please visit vCita.
It does sound interesting granted and very useful, BUT e-mail me about it if you want to promote it, DON'T put it in an in your face style to PUSH it.
The other SPAM issue is at the bottom there is a banner and link to HostGator hosting services. Again this is a deal breaker. I can't have anything that would possibly send business to a competitor.
If you are just average Joe user trying to use this for your own personal site then it might work out very well, BUT if you are a web developer who also runs a hosting service then this plugin will be an offense to your business.
Is this a plugin I might pay for? Quite possibly.
Is this a plugin that my company would most likely donate money to the developer? Again quite possibly.
You can get rid of the SPAM if you donate to the author though. Most of it that is.
Funny thing is one of the reasons I was drawn to try it out was the CAPTCHA feature to help avoid SPAM and robots.
