Execute arbitrary, reusable PHP code in posts, pages, comments, widgets and RSS feeds using shortcodes in a safe and easy way
I've been using this plugin for more than a year and it is doing a huge part of PHP/MySQL business on some pages of my sites...
I love this plugin! I've been using it for well over a few years now on multiple sites, and it has never failed me. There are so many places in a unique post or a page where you need specific code executed, and it doesn't make sense to modify a theme or create a whole new page template just for that little bit of one-off code. Also, if you modify theme files, that functionality goes away when you decide to change themes, unless you patch and modify the new theme.
I find this plugin extremely useful for adding PHP coding to pages. Was dismayed to see that support was being discontinued and then heartily relieved to read that support is going to be picked up by another volunteer.
Many thanks to original developer and to new supporter.
Apologies for being so tardy in leaving a 5* review.
Works really fine by manually inserting the code in brackets and it's an extremely helpful plugin.
I really hope it will get supported again!
I know that this has recently become unsupported by the author and that is unfortunate because I find this to be a very useful plug-in. The interface is user-friendly and allows users to test and debug shortcuts ahead of using them in their posts, pages, and widgets, which has allowed me much greater control of my content.
This is a very useful way to rapidly prototype shortcodes.
By combining it with other plugins, like the php browser detection plugin, I can see that I can more easily cut down on the number of bits emitted for mobile users while keeping the full-screen experience rich.
Thank you for your support of the whole WordPress community.
Does not save the shortcode!!
This plugin is just perfect for it intends to do, 5 stars!
My only suggestion is to add the choice of executing the code when the shortcode is implemented as a template tag within the loop. I needed this feature as I have included the shortcode in template files to automatically add the result to each post/excerpt.
