Sabre is an acronym for Simple Anti Bot Registration Engine. It's a set of counter measures against spam registration on your blog.
I wasn't certain I needed this plugin on my site as I have other anti-spam plugins so I disabled it. Within a few hours I'd had 2 new spam sign-ups so it's enabled again. This plugin is efficient and silent - it does the job well and doesn't need any attention. Recommended.
Hi guys, just to say that i'm currently using it on WordPress 3.8 and I used to setup the plugin for years ago and to update it and update wordpress core, never see a probleme with it.
Of course, after each update, I'm checking if a new register is ok, and an old one...
You can add it easily, and manage options and reporting are intuitive, and the most important is that its cost is minimal compare to some captcha, antibot or recaptcha method / other plugins...
Simply the best for me since 2004-2005 to nowadays ! :)
[ link redacted, please do not post links in the review section ] (to see registration and proof it's fully functionnal with 3.8 & 1.2.2)
Thanks for creating this!
I installed this plugin on my site wowgags.com, and manually checked the registration process. It doesn't allow user to register. I tried with all captcha combinations, it always shows same error.
I've been getting a lot of spam registrations on my site and figured this would help with the issue. When I used the captcha feature to test it out, my registration was denied EVERY single time I tried despite entering the letters and numbers exactly as they displayed. Don't waste your time with this one.
Since installing SABRE 300, spam user registrations have been blocked on my blog, and not a single spam registration got through. This plug-in is 100% effective for me.
SABRE has lots of configuration options to play with and gives you statistics about what it does and lets you review its decisions.
Spambot registrations used to be a big problem for me, and I was about to just turn them off entirely. No problem now.
I've been using Sabre for some time & generally it's worked well. Very few spam registrations. In the past few weeks, however, there have been 4-5 new spam registrations each day. I have all the anti spam features active (math problem, catpcha, etc.) Not sure how these are getting through, but I'm not happy about it.
