Rublon protects you against intruders who found out your passwords: two-factor authentication without a phone
OMG! This is free!!!!!!!
It's very easy to configure. I'd appreciate the work done by developer.
Rublon is the easiest and most secure 2 factor auth I have come across. Any site not using such a simple and robust plugin almost deserves to be compromised. I had a few questions while setting up additional devices for auth. So on a Sunday afternoon I shot out my question via Twitter. To my surprised I received a response within 5 minutes, and my questions answered within 10 minutes. That's how you support your customers!
Excellent Software with a Prompt Support!!
Beautiful Two-Factor Authentication for WordPress
As WordPress security consultants we always recommend our customers to use two-factor authentication for their WordPress blogs and websites to boost the security of the WordPress login and protect them from brute force attacks.
Lately we discovered Rublon and started recommending it. It is an easy to install and setup WordPress plugin that makes two-factor authentication for WordPress practical.
Unlike existing two-factor solutions for WordPress, where users have to enter a one-time code provided to them on their smartphone each time they have to login (making the login sequence a bit impractical and lengthy), with Rublon users only have to use a smarthphone app once to build a list of trusted devices.
Once Rublon is setup you can login to your WordPress by only providing a username and password, as usual. Then let Rublon do the additional security checks for you and protect your WordPress login with two-factor authentication.
We would definitely recommend every WordPress owner and administrator to install and setup Rublon. It is a must have WordPress security plugin.
Works well and adds a much needed layer of security to my WordPress websites.
Tutaj rejestracja konta i autoryzacja urządzenia przebiega szybko.
My two web sites were recently hacked and put out of service for several days, so I really needed to find a way to make them more secure. Rublon has a great idea for setting up two-stage authentication.
However, at first, after installing this plugin, I was having problems logging in to my WordPress site again, and Rublon's support personnel went to great lengths to solve them for me. [By the way, it's important to know that, if you ever do have problems logging in to your site after installing Rublon, all you need to do is go to the file manager of your web host (or use FileZilla) and delete the Rublon folder, which is found in your site's folder, wp-content folder, plugins folder.]
Anyway, getting back to my issues, Rublon sent me more than 20 emails and set up a Skype phone call in an effort to resolve them, which they finally did.
It turned out that I had 3 problems: 1) I had not set my privacy settings properly in Firefox. I now have Firefox set up to remember my browsing and download history, remember my search and form history, and accept cookies from visited sites; also I am no longer checking the box that says "clear history when Firefox closes." 2) My PHP settings were not set correctly, and I had to call my web host to set them for me. 3) I had changed the name and URL of one of my sites after creating it, and it turned out that the old name was still scattered throughout the files on the site. As a result, Rublon was trying to take me to the old URL, which no longer exists. After changing some of these files, with the help of my web host, the problem was resolved.
Thank you very much, Rublon, for your patience and outstanding support!
I installed it right away on a personal little domain I have, and it was a breeze. Then I authenticated myself with the Rublon service, that was also easy. Then I logged out of my little test-domain, and to see if it worked I logged in again: yup, it's a breeze with the QR scanner app. So next I tried it on another domain, hosted elsewhere, and... Uh-oh, some error... Until I realized the requirements: you MUST run at least PHP 5.3.3 (with cURL installed) and, of course, I forgot that that server is still running 5.2. So that was it! I installed it on a third one that I know runs 5.3 and indeed, it runs like a dream.
So, here's a tip: please put those two requirements a bit BIGGER on the description page, to avoid people like me who can't or won't read before installing the plugin...
Otherwise, it's a little marvel of a plugin and authentication system. To think that I only need to authenticate once and then can log in everywhere I have Rublon running... Pure bliss! :-)
I dont often comment about plugins unless its either really bad or really good.
This is one of the ones that just impress the hell out of me. I love it when I see something that is well thought out like this.
I give it 5 stars because.
I cant believe this is totally free.
