Happy with this slider
By , for WP 3.8.1

There are plenty of slider plugins to choose from. This one had just the features I wanted, nothing more, nothing less. The responsiveness works very nicely. Best of all, it uses standard WordPress features such as featured images and page order.

prematurally loops
By , for WP 3.5.1

I've added 95 slides, but the slideshow loops after only 10. I wonder if I've done something wrong.

Nice and clean
By , for WP 3.5.1

Does the job as intended. It would be nice if I could remove the links from the images though.

Good but not enought

Would be awesome if you add a categories support to that slider .

Good plugin but

The recent updates requires you to use:
<?php echo do_shortcode['responsive_slider']
instead of
<?php do_shortcode['responsive_slider']

I suppose it would have been better to first check the changelog, but I had updated in bulk and didn't notice the change. Ended up reverse engineering the plugin to figure it out before checking the changelog.

Developers, make sure you update your templates :) I sure wasted a lot of time. Apparently the shortcode still works in posts, though I'm not using it that way. Currently running 3.5.1 btw and after updating the above code, the plugin is working.

4/5 for the stupid update wasting my time

Great plugin
By , for WP 3.5

This plugin works fine, but, like miunosoft says, i miss some options like description text for slides. By the way, one method to put alt text from slides is adding the follow in the responsiveslider.php
$img_id = get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID); //to get the id of the attached image
$alt_text = get_post_meta($img_id , '_wp_attachment_image_alt', true); //to get the alt text of the atteched image
<h3 class="slide-alt"><?php echo $alt_text; ?></h3>
I hope this helps.

Pros

  • the design is beautiful
  • easy to set up

Features I wish

  • setting to display alternative message for JavaScript disabled browsers
  • link to post/pages by post ID
  • have description text
